OBJETIVO(S)
Discutir os conceitos básicos que norteiam a ortopedia funcional dos maxilares.

JUSTIFICATIVA
Esta disciplina deve permitir ao aluno a seleção de casos para ortopedia funcional dos maxilares, definir o prognóstico e elucidar as especificidades da terapia de pacientes Classe II em crescimento.

PROGRAMA
- Filosofia da ortopedia funcional dos maxilares:
- Interação ortopedia X crescimento facial.
- Bionator de Balters.
- Considerações de tratamento: época oportuna de tratamento; tratamento precoce; tratamento tardio.
- Aparelho de Herbst.
- Prognóstico de tratamento.
- Aparelhos de protração mandibular.

CRITÉRIOS DE AVALIAÇÃO
Participação em sala de aula, prova escrita, prova objetiva e entrega de trabalhos.
