SYLLABUS - PMR2590 - Data Networks and Computer Integrated Manufacturing.1) Enterprise functions: overview of enterprise functions focusing manufacturing companies; their relationship to automation. 2) Shop floor organization: functional layout, cellular manufacturing, flexible manufacturing systems, production lines. 3) Equipment integration on shop floor: characterization of manufacturing equipment (NC machines, industrial robots, handling equipment, etc) and its integration. 4) Data network for automation and communication. 5) Systems integration: characterization on main manufacturing systems (ERP, CAPP, CAD, CAM, CAQ, etc) and its integration. 6) Special topics on intelligent manufacturing systems and decision systems.
