Objetivos:
Apresentar os aspectos gerais sobre a bactéria (Leptospira) bem como da leptospirose, evidenciando atualidades nas questões epidemiológicas em diferentes espécies animais.
Objectives:
To present general aspects of the bacterium (Leptospira) as well as leptospirosis, highlighting current epidemiological issues in different animal species.
Justificativa:
Compreender como o gênero Leptospira é diversificado e dinâmico influencia diretamente a assimilar como a doença pode se comportar nas diferentes espécies animais. A pluralidade de leptospiras que podem infectar e se adaptar aos animais é atualmente mais explorada, proporcionada pelos avanços nas técnicas de diagnóstico e ferramentas epidemiológicas. Além disso este conhecimento é fundamental para a adoção de métodos de controle e prevenção, especialmente dentro de um rebanho.
Rationale:
understanding the diversity and dynamic nature of the Leptospira genus directly influences our understanding of how the disease can manifest in different animal species. The plurality of leptospires that can infect and adapt to animals is currently being explored more thoroughly, provided by the advances in diagnostic techniques and epidemiological tools. Furthermore, this knowledge is fundamental for the adoption of control and prevention methods, especially within a herd.

Participação em grupos de discussão e avaliação de seminários. A nota final da disciplina será calculada a partir da fórmula: Nota final = (avaliação do seminário × 0,5) + (avaliação do grupos de discussão × 0,5) que será transformada em conceito final, conforme: A: Excelente-de 9,0 a 10; B: Bom-de 8,0 a 8,9; C: Regular-de 7,0 a 7,9 e R: Reprovado por nota, menor de 7,0 e/ou por frequência, quando menor que 75%.
