Objetivos:

Desenvolver capacidade de análise crítica sobre as medidas aplicáveis ao controle e/ou erradicação de espécies invasoras, em especial vertebrados terrestres.

Objectives:

To develop critical analysis capacity on measures applicable to the control and/or eradication of invasive species, especially terrestrial vertebrates.

Justificativa:

O reconhecimento público e científico das invasões biológicas tem crescido mundialmente, porém ainda é incipiente no Brasil. Os efeitos negativos de alguns organismos não nativos são sérios demais para serem ignorados, sendo imprescindível o aumento da massa crítica para a promoção da diminuição dos efeitos deletérios de espécies invasoras sobre a fauna e a saúde pública. O objetivo desta disciplina é aumentar o conhecimento a respeito de espécies invasoras terrestres, sob os aspectos da saúde ambiental e saúde pública e com vistas à formulação de estratégias de manejo e erradicação.

Rationale:

Public and scientific recognition of biological invasions has grown worldwide, but it is still incipient in Brazil. The negative effects of some non-native organisms are too serious to be ignored, and it is essential to increase the critical mass to promote the reduction of the deleterious effects of invasive species on fauna and public health. The objective of this course is to increase knowledge about invasive terrestrial species, in terms of environmental and public health, and with a view to formulating management and eradication strategies.

1) Introduction; 2) Transport and Invasion Routes; 3) Establishment and Spread; 4) Impacts; 5) Perception and Detection; 6) Prediction and Prevention; 7) Control and Eradication of Invasive Species; 8) Bioeconomy of Invasion; 9) Economic Valuation and Decision Processes e 10) Public participation in management.

Forma de Avaliação:

Prova teórica (80% do aproveitamento) e exercícios diários disponibilizados ao final de cada aula (20% do aproveitamento).

Type of Assessment:

Theoretical test (80% of grade) and daily exercises available at the end of each class (20% of grade).

Observação:

1) A disciplina será oferecida 100% à distância, não sendo necessária a presença dos alunos na instituição. 2) As aulas serão realizadas de forma síncrona (Google Meet), sendo gravadas e o conteúdo disponibilizado possibilitando ao aluno assistir o conteúdo posteriormente. 3) Os conteúdos complementares serão disponibilizados na forma de textos e vídeos na plataforma de EAD (e-disciplinas). 4) A interação entre o aluno e o docente de dará de modo on-line, durante as aulas, por meio de email e utilizando a plataforma de EAD 5) A frequência será controlada através da conclusão de atividades propostas, além da visualização de conteúdos na plataforma EAD. 6) A avaliação será remota por meio da entrega do relatório escrito da prova e entrevista on-line. 7) As notas serão atribuídas em escala de 0 a 10 para a prova. 8) A unidade dispõe de sala multimídia que garante ao aluno os meios de acesso ao curso de forma remota na indisponibilidade de meios próprios.

Notes/Remarks:

1) The course will be offered 100% at a distance, with no need for students to be present at the institution. 2) Classes will be held synchronously (Google Meet), being recorded and the content made available allowing the student to watch the content later. 3) Complementary content will be made available in the form of texts and videos on the EAD (e-disciplinas) platform. 4) The interaction between the student and the teacher will take place online, during classes, through email and using the EAD platform 5) Attendance will be controlled through the completion of proposed activities, in addition to viewing content on the EAD platform. 6) The evaluation will be remote through the delivery of the written test report and online interview. 7) Grades will be assigned on a scale of 0 to 10 for the test. 8) The faculty has a multimedia room that guarantees the student the means of accessing the course remotely in the absence of own means.
